I would like to talk about this amazing event that happened last week in Oslo, Norway. The Oslo Freedom Forum 2012 put together social activists, Nobel Prize winners, jornalists, policy makers, among others. Some were born slaves, others were imprisoned and tortured, many are under constant life treat. All want to share their stories, their causes, and ask for a world with freedom of expression, where they can be free from slavery (there are more slaves today than any other time in history, something around 27 million), free from torture (committed by many countries), where people have freedom of association, of a fair trial, among other freedoms (according to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights).

I'm sharing the Forum's opening video, that starts in 5min and 50 sec, where Thor Halvorssen [the organizer] talk a bit about the Forum, then James Fallon explains how does a dictator's mind work, Zoha Phan shares the difficulties faces by Burma, Barbara Demick talks about censorship and the total absence of Human Rights in North Korea, and at last Zhanna Litvina exposes the current situation in Belarus. Gostaria de divulgar este evento incrível que aconteceu semana passada em Oslo, na Noruega. O Forum da Liberdade 2012 reuniu ativistas sociais, ganhadores de prêmios nobel da paz, jornalistas, alguns políticos, entre outros. Alguns nasceram escravos, outros foram presos e torturados, muitos estão sob ameaça de morte ou de prisão (e tortura). Todos querem compartilhar suas estórias, suas causas e pedir por um mundo onde as pessoas tenham liberdade de expressão, onde elas sejam livres da escravidão (existem mais escravos hoje do que em qualquer outro período da história da humanidade), da tortura (cometida por diversos países), onde possuem a liberdade de associação, de serem julgados de forma justa, entre outras exigências (que estão previstas na Declaração Universal dos Direitos Humanos).
